TR409
Replace a worn or damaged steering centre rod in your Datsun 1200 with this new replacement assembly.
Also commonly known as a centre link or steering cross rod, this component forms a key part of the steering linkage. It transfers steering movement between the steering box, idler arm and tie rod assemblies, allowing both front wheels to respond together as the steering wheel is turned.
A worn centre rod can contribute to excessive steering play, wandering, knocking noises, uneven tyre wear or a generally vague steering feel. Replacing it can help restore tighter and more predictable steering when the original component has become worn.
Designed to suit the following rear-wheel-drive models fitted with the original steering box and centre-link arrangement:
Please confirm your vehicle's chassis code and compare the replacement centre rod with the original component before installation. Vehicle catalogues may list the same chassis under either Nissan or Datsun branding depending on the year and market.
This centre rod is intended for rear-wheel-drive vehicles using a steering box and centre-link system. It is not suitable for front-wheel-drive B11 or B12 models fitted with rack-and-pinion steering.
Steering components are safety-critical parts. Professional installation is recommended, followed by an inspection of the complete steering linkage and a wheel alignment check.
