Wiring up an SR in 1600/510
This can be a difficult procedure for many. If you are prepared to take your time,document what you do,ask for advise, you will succeed. these pages will be updated as time permits.
There are many ways to do this, once again we can only show you the way we go about it.
Most of these pics were taken some time ago and we have refined our procedures since. It is prefered to complete the wiring loom on the bench and then install the comlete loom. A neater job results and installation time is reduced.
The engine harness is seperated into two looms. The lower loom comprises wiring for the transmission connections,alternator,oil switch and starter. This pic shos entry point for the main harness.
Position of wiring for O2 sensor & air flow meter. Note the
"gulp valve" and boost controls are removed. The igniter is repositioned to the rear of the RH strut tower away from heat and to reduce the loom size.
Hole for EFI top harness entry adjacent to clutch master cyl. Entry this side keeps loom harness away from exhaust heat & hides it away nicely behing the inlet plenumn

Not a very nice sight. Masses of unneed wire and a headache to sort out. Had to do it the first time to suss out what was involved. This was an attempt to intergrate the wiring. Dont do this. We now use seperate harnesses
